Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to facilitate the adaptation of first-year university students to academic and social life. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to become familiar with the structure, functioning, regulations, and opportunities offered by the university, as well as to understand their rights and responsibilities as students. In addition, the course aims to help students develop basic awareness and skills in effective learning, time management, academic integrity, and career planning. In this way, students are supported in participating in university life as active, conscious, and responsible individuals.

Course Content
|
Within the scope of this course, orientation activities are organized. Students participate in various informational sessions on topics such as the introduction of the faculty, department, and administrative units; associate and undergraduate education, teaching, and examination regulations; the student information system, course registration, credit and ECTS system; student rights and responsibilities and student disciplinary regulations; academic integrity, plagiarism, and ethical principles; the use of library and electronic resources; effective learning and study strategies; time management and goal setting; adaptation to university life, stress management, and psychological counseling services; health, cultural, and sports services; student clubs and social responsibility activities; exchange programs (Erasmus+, Farabi, Mevlana) and scholarship opportunities; and career planning, internships, and career center services. Students also take part in various social activities such as sports tournaments and field trips.
