Objectives of the Course The general aim of this course is for prospective teachers to learn the purpose, implementation principles, and stages of drama, as well as drama techniques suitable for preschool-aged children, and to develop the skills to prepare a drama plan.
Course Content Beyond serving as a teaching tool, drama is a method that significantly contributes to an individual ` s development, regardless of age. Through drama—a group activity rooted in play—participants acquire various skills while having fun and fostering a sense of group consciousness. Drama encompasses fundamental skills such as creativity, group awareness, production, reasoning, and inquiry; consequently, it is essential to understand its processes and for prospective teachers to experience it firsthand. Therefore, this 14-week course will feature three hours of practical drama activities each week. Students are responsible for the theoretical readings, and discussions will be held at the conclusion of the class activities. To derive maximum benefit from this course, please attend regularly, focus on the practical exercises, and ensure you integrate every activity with the course content.
Course Methods and Techniques Each lesson will begin with a drama practice under the leadership of the faculty member. Following the application prepared based on the content to be covered that day, the application will be evaluated and its relationship with theoretical knowledge will be established.
