Objectives of the Course
This course provides a fundamental introduction to the theory of functions of a complex variable. Starting with the basic arithmetic and geometry of complex numbers, the course proceeds with analytic functions, the Cauchy-Riemann equations, and Cauchy ` s integral formula. After examining the representation of functions using power series and the residue theorem, the course concludes with Fourier series and Fourier transforms.

Course Content
This course begins with complex numbers, polar representation, and elementary functions of complex variables. It covers limit, continuity, differentiability in the complex plane, analytic functions, and the Cauchy-Riemann equations as the fundamental condition for analyticity. The second section explores the Cauchy integral theorem, Cauchy integral formulas, and zeros of analytic functions. The curriculum continues with Laurent series, classification of isolated singular points (removable, poles, and essential singularities), and the Residue theorem used for evaluating complex integrals. The final part of the course thoroughly covers Fourier series and the Fourier transform.
