Objectives of the Course The main objective of this course is to provide Electrical-Electronics, Computer, and Systems Engineering students with the fundamental principles of engineering graphics, as well as the skills to model electronic components in 2D/3D and design printed circuit boards (PCBs) using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Course Content This course begins with the fundamental principles of technical drawing, line standards, geometric constructions, projection techniques, and basic multi-view drafting. It thoroughly covers sectional views, dimensioning techniques, and tolerance fundamentals. The curriculum continues with international standards for electrical and electronic symbols, as well as the representation of standard components. In the second phase, 2D object drafting, assembly modeling, and component constraint management are taught using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. The final section covers Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, 2D/3D modeling of electronic components for PCB layouts, and manufacturing applications using CAD/CAM software.
