Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to examine the environmental impacts of tourism activities and sustainability principles. Students will understand the positive and negative impacts of the tourism sector on the environment, and will be informed about how to develop sustainable tourism practices and how to increase environmental responsibility awareness. In addition, the importance of environmentally friendly tourism strategies and policies will be emphasized and measures that can be taken to protect local ecosystems will be discussed.
Course Content Tourism and Environment course provides students with in-depth information about environmental problems by addressing basic issues such as historical development of environmental awareness, environmental values ??and pollution. In addition, the course covers topics such as environmental law in Turkey, tourism and environment relations, sustainability principles and environmental impact assessment. Students will learn about sustainable practices in the accommodation and food and beverage sectors through topics such as tourism types and environmental impacts and green management practices, and will gain information about environmentally friendly approaches.
Course Methods and Techniques The course will be taught theoretically. The course, which will be taught formally for 14 weeks, will be explained through the contents and professional definitions prepared by the instructor.
