Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to examine early literacy based on its theoretical, developmental, and scientific foundations, rather than through activities implemented during the preschool period. The course will provide an in-depth analysis of the emergence of early literacy, key approaches, its relationship with developmental theories, its multi-component structure, and its place within the context of early childhood education. This course aims to train teachers and researchers who can distinguish early literacy from early reading and writing instruction, ground their activities in theoretical rationales, and critically interpret the relevant literature.
