Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the stages of scientific research processes; to examine quantitative and qualitative research designs that form the basis for evidence-based practice in nursing; and to acquire the skills to critically evaluate research articles by learning fundamental biostatistics concepts and data analysis methods.

Course Content
|
The scope of this course encompasses the nature of science and nursing research; the research process and problem formulation; literature review methods; research ethics and rights; quantitative research designs (descriptive, cross-sectional, experimental, etc.); qualitative research designs; population, sampling, and data collection methods; fundamental biostatistics concepts; descriptive and hypothesis-testing statistical analyses; and the critical appraisal of research articles.
