Students may also be asked to present the topic. For this reason, students should prepare well by reading the material during the week before each class.

Course Notes
|
Class attendance is compulsory at a rate of 70% (10 weeks, including midterm exam week). Attendance is entered into the system after class each week and cannot be changed afterwards. Students who miss five or more weeks will fail the course due to absence and will not be allowed to take the midterm or final exams. Students may arrive up to 15 minutes late, but this should not become a habit. Students who miss the first part of a class must attend the second part, as this counts toward the attendance calculation. Although attendance is compulsory, it is also rewarded: as stated in the Assessment System, up to 15 points are added to the final exam grade for attendance. Provided the 70% requirement is met, the student with the highest attendance receives the full 15 points, and the other students’ attendance points are calculated proportionally. The books that can be used as course resources are listed in this form. Students are responsible for the topics of the 15 weeks listed in this form, as well as for everything covered in class. Students may also study the course topics from other general accounting textbooks. Students should prepare in advance for each week’s topics and are expected to have a reasonable understanding of the topic when asked about it. Students must bring the necessary materials (book, notebook and pen) to class and may not chat among themselves during class. Mobile phones must be on silent during class. All students are expected to stay focused on the lesson. No food or drink other than water may be consumed in class. Assignments and tasks must be completed and submitted on time. Due dates are shared in the class communication groups. Students who need more time must get permission from the instructor in advance. Assignments must be handwritten on A4 paper, with the sources used cited. The assignment topic goes at the top of the page. Assignments must not be placed in a folder or plastic sleeve. Staple them in the top-left corner, write your first and last name in the top-right corner, and then submit them.
