Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
NoLearning Outcomes
1 Assesses basic ECG concepts, the cardiac conduction system and heart rate; recognizes commonly encountered cardiac arrhythmias
2 Applies prehospital emergency care principles for cardiac arrhythmias and acute coronary syndromes; performs external pacing, defibrillation, cardioversion and vagal maneuvers
3 Recognizes cardiac arrest rhythms and cardiac arrest in special circumstances; manages prehospital cardiac arrest, performs blood gas assessment and pulse oximetry monitoring, and provides post-resuscitation care
4 Has the skill of advanced airway management and provides advanced life support to the adult patient
5 Provides advanced life support to the neonatal and pediatric (infant, child) patient; knows the medications used in prehospital emergency care and applies alternative methods when required.
