Objectives of the Course The aim is to ensure that students gain an understanding of the discipline of criminology and its findings regarding crime, criminality, offenders, the offender population, victims and social control mechanisms.
Course Content The course content comprises the concept of criminology and its historical development, the importance and role of criminology, research methods in criminology, and fundamental and other related concepts such as known and unknown criminality.
Course Methods and Techniques The following methods are used: lecture (direct instruction), question-and-answer sessions, discussion, practical exercises and design techniques.
