Objectives of the Course
The aim is for students to become familiar with and learn the legal terminology and concepts in English, to be able to read and understand legislation and judicial decisions—such as those of the European Court of Human Rights—at a basic level, and to lay the foundations for further study.

Course Content
This course, designed for students, is recommended to enable legal professionals in Turkey—a country closely linked to the European legal system and which recognises the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights—to become familiar with legal literature in English and to be able to read and understand fundamental legal provisions and court rulings in English. The course will cover the fundamental English-language concepts of private and public law. Within this framework, students will be provided with basic professional English language skills through the translation of legislative provisions and judgements of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the Constitutional Court (AYM), the Court of Cassation (Yargıtay) and the Council of State (Danıştay).
