Objectives of the Course This course aims to teach the fundamental concepts of virtual reality technologies, their software and hardware components, development processes, and techniques for creating interactive virtual environments. By learning the operating principles of virtual reality applications, students will have the opportunity to create audiovisual experiences, facilitate user interaction, and explore various use cases across different sectors. The course will examine in detail how virtual reality systems function, covering the algorithms employed, hardware components, software development tools, and optimization techniques. By the end of the course, students will possess the knowledge and skills required to develop a basic virtual reality environment.
Course Content This course covers the fundamental components of virtual reality technologies, including software and hardware systems, user interaction mechanisms, and the processes involved in creating virtual environments. Students will acquire the skills necessary to develop interactive experiences by learning the operating principles of virtual reality systems, 3D object modeling and scene design, movement and interaction systems, visual and auditory feedback mechanisms, physics engines, and optimization techniques. Furthermore, the applications of virtual reality technologies across various sectors—such as gaming, education, healthcare, engineering, and architecture—will be examined, with analyses based on real-world implementation examples.
